East Riding of Yorkshire council is encouraging residents to support the East Riding Food Poverty Alliance (ERFPA).

ERFPA’s network includes 13 foodbanks across the East Riding, from Goole to Bridlington, who will be supporting families facing food and fuel poverty this winter.

Every donation can make a difference, and ERFPA accept a wide variety of goods to help families in need. This includes canned food, toiletries, rice and noodles, and festive treats.

ERFPA is supported by East Riding of Yorkshire council, through the Household Support Fund. The council supplies grants as well as staff and organisational support.

Councillor Lyn Healing, cabinet member for communities and public protection said “It’s important to give back this Christmas and help support those in need. We’re proud to support the East Riding Food Poverty Allowance, and encourage residents to get involved and help this vital cause”

More information about donating food or getting help can be found at the ERFPA website at https://www.erfpa.org.uk/ or by calling 01482 871 077

If you are struggling financially please visit the council’s Help For Households webpage at eryc.link/helpforhouseholds to find all the cost-of-living support and advice available.

People can use the free benefits calculator there to check they are receiving all the benefits to which they are entitled.
