East Riding of Yorkshire Council has completed the development of 16 new affordable homes on Whitethorne Avenue, Withernsea. The £3.65m new housing development consists of ten one-bed flats and six two-bed houses. It has received funding from the council and Homes England, the housing and regeneration agency.
This development forms part of the council’s strategic priority to acquire and build new council housing across the East Riding of Yorkshire. The new homes will be allocated through the Council’s housing allocations policy which ensures homes are let to households on the Housing Register in greatest need.
The contractor for the scheme was Morris & Spottiswood and has provided jobs and training to people within the local area.

East Riding of Yorkshire Council has allocated £20,000, provided through the UK government’s Household Support Fund, to fund adult financial literacy courses.
