A BEVERLEY mother was repeatedly stabbed before the man believed to have killed her died in a crash as he fled police, an inquest in Hull heard. MORE BEVERLEY volunteers are needed by the charity Hull & East Riding Guide Dogs. Among the roles they’re desperate to fill are Puppy Raisers, to help raise a future guide dog, Sighted Guides to help a visually-impaired person feel more integrated in the community by going out, and Fosterers willing to provide a welcoming and safe environment for dogs in training. The Hull Seahawks have announced the signing of forward Shaun Galloway for the 22/23 season. The 21 year-old forward joins the Seahawks from NIHL 1 Division side, the Billingham Stars. Beverley Town got their first season in the North East Counties Leagues underway with a win. Town were 1-0 victors over recently relegated Athersley Recreation. The only goal of the game came from debutant midfielder Nathan Ofori in the 34th minute. NCEL Premier Division North Ferriby began life in their new division with a 2-0 home win over Emley thanks to a brace of goals from man of the match Danny East.
