CONFUSION over voting for East Riding Council’s vice chair almost saw the opposition Liberal Democrats’ candidate elected at yesterday’s annual meeting of the authority. BEVERLEY will be the starting point for a leg of The Queen’s Baton Relay as it completes its final journey, culminating in the Opening Ceremony for this year’s Commonwealth Games, being staged in Birmingham. BEVERLEY councillors have re-elected Cllr Linda Johnson as Mayor for a second term, with Cllr Tom Astell continuing as Deputy Mayor.
