BEVERLEY’S back in the food spotlight tomorrow night when pan-Asian restaurant Sumo competes in the final episode of the BBC2 series Britain’s Top Takeaways. Sumo, which opened at Flemingate in 2018, offers Thai, Chinese, Korean and Japanese dishes to eat in or take away and is up against four other outlets in a bid to find the best noodle dishes – two from Scotland, one from Wales and another from Leeds.
Judging the dishes and deciding who wins are a host of Great British takeaway-loving families who will eat, rate and score the food from the comfort of their dining table or sofa, alongside guest judges the Manchester Village Spartans Rugby Club. Britain’s Best Takeaways airs tomorrow on BBC2 at 8pm.
The programme follows hot-on-the-heels of Masterchef, which was won by Beverley man Eddie Scott.
