Yorkshire Water is set to invest £384,000 to replace clean water pipes in the village of Weel, near Beverley.
The works are scheduled to commence on Monday October 28, and is anticipated to last around 17 weeks.
The work will be completed in two phases, with traffic management in place. The first phase will start at Carr Lane by The Homestead, towards the junction with Weel Road (from October 28 to December 20), followed by the second stage (January 2 to February 14), which will extend up Weel Road to Grovehill Road junction.
Road closures will be in place throughout the works, but access for residents and local businesses will be maintained. Work is set to pause over Christmas from December 20, with operations resuming on January 2.
Yorkshire Water’s customer liaison team is actively engaging with locals and the broader community to keep them informed about what to expect and when.
Victoria Corbett, asset delivery project manager at Yorkshire Water, said: “This investment will improve resilience in the network, providing safe, clean, reliable water now and into the future.
“We apologise to residents for any inconvenience this may cause and thank them for their patience as we carry out this work. This is one of the many improvements we are making that are part of our £800m investment in infrastructure across the region this year.”
