A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of attempted robbery following an incident in Beverley in the early hours of Monday morning. In a statement issued to Beverley FM, police said it was reported that a woman was walking on Samman Road when she was approached by a man who struck up a conversation with her. The man is then believed to have tried to take the woman’s bag.

The woman managed to fight off the assailant before getting herself to safety. In their statement police said a man was arrested yesterday morning and remains in custody. They also issued an appeal for anyone with information regarding the incident to get in touch on the police non-emergency number 101, quoting log 108 of July 4.
