DOG WARDENS in the East Riding are to be given body cameras as a deterrent to owners who refuse to clean up after their pets. The wardens will use the cameras as a way of challenging owners and capturing evidence, as well as protecting them from abusive behaviour.
A council officer witnessing a dog fouling offence can issue a £75 fixed penalty notice and failure to pay could lead to a court appearance and a fine of up to £1,000.
TELECOMS provider KCom has announced plans to invest £100 million across Hull, East Yorkshire and Lincolnshire to expand its full fibre broadband network. It will mean an upgrade for 14,000 properties in East Yorkshire, including Cherry Burton and Tickton, currently without full fibre.
