It’s a tail-wagging moment for East Yorkshire as two independent businesses have secured their spots in the finals of the esteemed national Dog Friendly Awards, set to take place in London later this month.
Beverley’s Oh My Dog and South Cave’s Gallipots will be flying the flag for East Yorkshire, having both been shortlisted in recognition of their exceptional dog-friendly services at the Dog Friendly Awards, which are due to take place at the Kennel Club Headquarters in London on 21st November.
The awards aim to recognise and reward dog friendly places and pet businesses that go above and beyond for the benefit of the UK’s 12.5 million dogs and their owners.
Oh My Dog, located on Dyer Lane in Beverley, is one of three finalists in the ‘Shops’ category, while Gallipots, situated in Market Place in South Cave, is one of three finalists in the ‘Groomers’ category.
James May, owner of Gallipots, expressed his delight at being recognised as a finalist, saying: “Being recognised as a finalist is a significant honour, reflecting all our hard work this year and the support of our valued customers. This acknowledgment confirms that we are on the right path, offering the best possible service. In these challenging times, such recognition is a tremendous boost for all at our small business.”
Lucy Thompson, Owner of Oh My Dog, also shared her excitement: “I was so overwhelmed when I read all the reviews our customers had posted to vote for our little dog shop in these awards. Never did I think we’d make the finals! Recognition and appreciation from our customers make everything worthwhile, Oh My Dog isn’t ‘just a shop’, it’s a community of dog lovers constantly striving to bring something new and dog crazy! I’m over the moon to be invited as a finalist, even more so that we can take our cocker spaniel Lily!”
The two independent family-run businesses are eagerly anticipating a day of celebration, inspiration, and networking with other esteemed Dog Friendly business owners and professionals from across the UK at the awards at The Kennel Club on 21st November.
