It has been a busy start to the bank holiday for the local sporting world off the field as well as on it.

In case you missed it yesterday we have a full preview of the weekend’s play if you follow the link.

Hull City announced the signing of Irish international right-back Cyrus Christie on a free. The 29-year-old has made over 250 appearances in the second tier of English football, as well as picking up a handful of games in the Premier League with Fulham in the 2018/19 season. Christie signs a two-year deal with an option for a third. He will add some much-needed cover in fullback, especially in the long-term absence of Josh Emmanuel.

Willie Peters has added further depth to Hull KR‘s front row ahead of the 2023 season. 21-year-old Yusuf Aydin will join the Robins next season on a two-year deal. The Turkish international prop has made 11 Super League appearances this season for his current side Wakefield Trinty as well as on a short loan with Leeds Rhinos.

North Ferriby have bolstered their defensive ranks by picking up Josh Smaller on a dual registration contract. Smaller signed the dual registration from Cleethorpes Town in the Northern Premier League Division One East.

Hull City Ladies confirmed a further signing last night. Katrina Moore joins the Tigeresses from Whitehall Rangers.
