North Ferriby FC wrap up their regular season with a trip to Nostell Miners Welfare on Saturday. This will not be the final game of the season though. Chris Bolder’s side will face Rossington at the Dransfield stadium next week in the play-off semi-finals.

It’s been a good season for Bolder’s side. The ultimate goal was to gain promotion to the NCEL premier division, and the Villagers are still able to achieve this goal.

A win over Nostell will see the Villagers end the season on 96 points. When asked how he feels the season has gone, North Ferriby boss Chris Bolder said, “The season has gone well, to have only tasted defeat four times, and have a strong win percentage with the best defensive record in the league is a great effort. Obviously, our target was to get promoted and this is still firmly in our hands. The play-offs are always challenging, and it is knock-out football which can affect things, but we will go into with confidence and self-belief that we can still achieve our aim”.

The Villagers defeated Teversal 8-1 last time out in a dominant performance. Tom Corner scored five whilst skipper Niall Tilsley scored twice with Josh Whiteley with a solitary goal. During this game, the Villagers surpassed the landmark of 100 team goals this season.

Their opponents this weekend, Nostell currently it in 13th. If they get a victory over the Villagers on Saturday and other results go their way, they could still finish in the top 10. Last time out they were beaten 3-0 at Selby. Since the start of February, they have won just two games. When the two sides met in November, they were only separated by a second-half Josh Whiteley goal.

Bolder was asked about how he will manage his squad with the upcoming playoffs in mind, “We are in a strong position with the squad, and we will continue to assess the needs of all players so that we enter the play-offs in the best possible shape with great options in multiple positions”.

The Villagers will still be without Danny East through injury and will also be without Adam Bolder who is unavailable.
