It’s Play-Off semi-final action for North Ferriby FC as they host Rossington Main at the Dransfield stadium this Saturday.
The Villagers warmed up with a routine 5-0 win over Nostell last weekend. There are five different goal scorers as the goals were spread between Josh Whiteley, Danny Emerton, Joel Shortland, Harvey Carew, and Danny Buttle.
By finishing second the Villagers were awarded home advantage for this game, a reward they’ll take into the final should they advance. When asked about the advantages of playing at home this weekend, North Ferriby boss Chris Bolder said, “All teams would rather play on familiar surroundings. We will get the home support behind us as usual and it’s a benefit to know how the pitch works”.
In their two games against Rossington this season the Villagers drew 1-1 in South Yorkshire but beat Rossington 4-0 just last month. When asked about what he expects from his sides opponents and what they might change from their last visit, Bolder said, “Psychologically, neither set of players will be able to forget what happened in the last game. It will give Rossington a bit more drive to play to their best as they know we will punish them if they underperform. Pressure games like this one can change games”.
When asked about the threat offered by Rossington overall, Bolder said, we know what to expect. They have good, experienced players who have done it at a higher level. They are on a good run and will come into this game full of confidence. What they brought to us last month is what we’ll see personnel-wise this weekend.
The victors of this meeting will face either Brigg Town or Harrogate Railway. The game will be played simultaneously to the Ferriby/ Rossington game. If Ferriby prevail, they will host the final, as stated previously.
Ferriby will be without Jordan Douglas and Liam Nelthorpe. Joel Shortland is a major doubt having left the field of play late on in the Nostell victory. Adam Bolder will return to the side.
