PR: Hull City vs Wigan Athletic

Hull City welcome in-form Wigan to the MKM Stadium looking to bounce back from a disappointing 0-2 home defeat last time out versus Luton Town.

Wigan have enjoyed a good start to life back in the Championship and currently sit mid-table with an impressive run of 4 away victories on the bounce and will be confident heading to the MKM Stadium with City in a wretched run of form and currently managerless after Shota Arveladze’s recent departure.

Andy Dawson will once again take charge of team affairs and will be looking for a much-improved performance to the one that took to the field against Luton Town.

There is much speculation on who will take over the reins as Acun llicali looks to make a swift appointment and reignite the faltering Tigers’ fortunes. Carvalhal, Parker & Dyche are just some of the names linked with the vacant post and it’s a job that many suitors will see as a great opportunity with a very talented squad to choose from.

Andy Dawson will more than likely stick with the same formation as last time out with one or two changes in the offing. Greg Docherty and Cyrus Christie made good impacts from the bench versus Luton and could be in Dawson’s thoughts for a place in the starting line-up and resist the possibility of making wholesale changes.

Wigan will look to the free-scoring Will Keane to continue his good form and as we welcome both him and Josh Magennis back to the MKM.

I am expecting and hoping to see a positive response from City and predicting a hard-fought 1-0 win and a very welcome clean sheet.

The next few weeks will be testing times for the Tigers as they will look to find their early season form and move away from the lower half of the table.

It goes without saying that they need to get the right man in place as soon as possible, a much-improved performance and a home victory will lift the mood massively!
