North Ferriby Fc travel to Emley at the weekend, in a contest that sees first place take on second. It is the Villagers who currently sit at the summit, a gap of eight points between the two sides. Emley, do have two games in hand over Chris Bolder’s side.

The Villagers come into the game off the back of a 3-2 home win over Golcar. The Villagers needed a 94th-minute winner from the returning Danny East to gain the three points. The Villagers saw themselves pulled level twice in the contest. The other two goals were scored by Niall Tilsley and Danny Clarke. Chris Bolder summed up his thoughts on the game, “It was a great win last Saturday against another strong outfit. I know we scored in the dying stages which is disappointing for them, however, we had enough chances to win the game earlier, so for me, it doesn’t matter when you score especially when you have had a lot of opportunities prior. It also shows an amazing spirit of the lads too to keep on going right until that final whistle”.

The Villagers come up against the league’s best attack and the league’s second-best defence. Emley have scored 40 goals in their 16 league games. They also boast the league’s top goal scorer in Joe Jagger. Jagger has 21 goals to his name thus far.

The two sides met on the opening day of the season. Chris Bolder’s side won the game 2-0. Danny East grabbing both goals. Since their defeat on the opening day, Emley have yet to taste defeat in the league again, going fifteen league games unbeaten. Bolder shared his thoughts ahead of the game, “We are looking forward to a big game on Saturday against a very in-form strong team. They are unbeaten in the league since the defeat against us on the opening game of the season, so we know it is going to be extremely tough. However, we go into the game on the back of four straight league wins and have a good squad to choose from”.
