LATEST annual Environmental Performance Assessments by the Environment Agency shows the performance of England’s nine water and sewerage companies has declined. In Yorkshire, Yorkshire Water received a 2 star rating, a decline from its 4 star rating last year, which it had achieved for the first time since 2014. It saw five serious pollution incidents during 2021, an increase of two from the previous year.

This latest assessment follows news earlier this week that Yorkshire Water has agreed to donate a total of £400,000 to Yorkshire Wildlife Trust after polluting two watercourses in separate incidents, following investigations by the Environment Agency. The incidents were at Holgate Beck in York and another in Wakefield.

The 17th century, Grade II-listed building, which includes living accommodation on the second and third floors, is on the market for offers in the region of £465,000.
