Danny Earl’s late winner ensured North Ferriby left Frickley with a 1-0 victory. The final result moves Chris Bolder’s side back to the summit of the NCEL premier division.

There was little chances created from either side in the first half as both sides contended with the heavy downpour during the first period.

Danny Earl had the game’s opening chance when his low effort was saved by Charlie Preston in the Frickley goal.

Jamie Forrester looked to make good contact when presented a chance during a mini scramble in the area, but couldn’t find the needed contact.

The hosts had a couple of their own chances. George Green went close, but his effort trickled wide. Lewis Hill had to produce a good save to deny Keelan Grist after he was played through on goal.

Jamie Forrester had the first chance of the second half as he shot from range, however, his strike cannoned off the bar and then rolled across the goal before Frickley could clear the danger.

Frickley attacker Alhassane Keita found space in the area. A last-ditch block denied him an opportunity to put his side ahead.

A Ferriby corner caused issues for the hosts and the ball fell at the feet of Levi Tarbotton. The Ferriby defender couldn’t keep his shot down as it flew over the bar, after a deflection from his own teammate.

Lewis Hill again kept the scores level as Grist controlled well and unleashed an effort from range, but Hill matched the effort.

The games decisive moment came when Danny Earl received the ball in the Frickley half, he ran towards goal and hit a low shot across the goal, and the ball nestled in the Frickley goal.

Chris Bolder’s thoughts after the game “The boys had to dig in. We weren’t at our best but from a defensive and resilience point of view, we were brilliant. We couldn’t get a grip of the ball. We couldn’t get the passing game doing but our work ethic and desire was second to none. We had some good chances, as did they. Lewis Hill has made some excellent saves all credit to him. You don’t get it all your way every game, and to leave here with three points I’m delighted”.

North Ferriby: Hill, Smaller, Tarbotton, Tilsley, Start, Bolder, Dickens (Kirk), Dennett, Forrester (Buttle) Earl, East (Emerton).
