Hull City are delighted to announce that young goalkeeper Harvey Cartwright has signed a new long-term contract. The 20-year-old has agreed a four-year deal with the Tigers, which includes a club option of a further year.

The Grimsby-born shot-stopper, who joined the club’s academy at Under-13s level, enjoyed a season of progression in 2021/22.

He made his City league debut in the Championship draw at Queens Park Rangers in February and started the home game against Barnsley three days later.

Cartwright earned his first England Under-20s cap in March and also kept four clean sheets in six unbeaten matches during a month-long loan stay at non-league Gainsborough Trinity.

“It’s a huge honour to get another contract extension on top of the one I’m on after such a good year at Hull City,” said the highly-rated custodian.

“I’m really pleased to sign a new contract and I just want to keep playing football.

“The new owner’s come in and they’re really ambitious, so to give me another contract shows I’m in their future plans and it really excites me.

“It shows the owner trusts me, the people of the board and everyone above me.

“It’s a massive step forward to be rewarded with another contract.”
