High-tech ‘bi-mode’ trains to arrive in Hull for the first time with more than 150 extra seats

Special bi-mode trains that can work on diesel or electric power are to arrive in Hull for the first time. The TransPennine Express Nova 1 trains also have more than 150 extra seats compared to current trains travelling on the route. From December, customers in Hull can use the Nova 1 fleet - 19 five-carriage trains with 161 extra seats. Met Office issues yellow snow and ice weather warning for Hull and East Yorkshire

Hull and parts of East Yorkshire are under a yellow weather warning for ice and snow overnight and tomorrow. The Met Office has placed huge parts of the UK under a yellow weather warning from 6pm today until 12pm on Wednesday. Yorkshire Wildlife Trust buys historic heart of East Yorkshire wetland nature reserve

A farm at the centre of a “very important” East Yorkshire nature reserve has been bought by the Yorkshire Wildlife Trust (YWT), enabling the charity to plan for the site's future. New Brough roundabout opens following £4.7m investment

A new £4.7m roundabout has opened to traffic in Brough designed to improve the congested junction for years to come.  East Riding of Yorkshire Council has constructed a new three-arm roundabout in the town to replace the previous busy junction at Welton Road, Welton Low Road, Water Lane and the A63.    Work on the major scheme has taken 16 months and is now open to drivers.
