BEVERLEY will be the starting point for a leg of The Queen’s Baton Relay as it completes its final journey, culminating in the Opening Ceremony for this year’s Commonwealth Games, being staged in Birmingham. MORE THAN 40 puppet theatre companies will be descending on Beverley for this year's puppet festival, which runs from Friday July 15 to Sunday the 17th in indoor and outdoor venues across the town. BEVERLEY councillors have re-elected Cllr Linda Johnson as Mayor for a second term, with Cllr Tom Astell continuing as Deputy Mayor.
