Beverley and Holderness MP Graham Stuart has been meeting with East Riding Careers Leaders from across his constituency to discuss how Careers Hubs are being used to improve the quality of guidance that students receive. He told Beverley FM that he heard from local schools how the Hubs have delivered training to improve services. He added that It’s very important for every child to receive high quality careers guidance while they are at school and he wants to ensure that this is the case.

A new highly acclaimed play about the life of Beverley artists Fred and Mary Elwell has started a second run at East Riding Theatre after its sell-out premiere in April. It’s been combined with a mini festival featuring talks and artists’ workshops. Tonight’s performance is followed by a question and answer session with the cast and Director.

Writer Gordon Meredith told us that the story of the Elwells is a great piece of local history for the East Riding. He said that while many people know about Fred and his work, not as many are aware of Mary, or that she was also a successful artist.”

You can find full details on the East Riding Theatre website. The show runs until tomorrow evening and a few tickets remain available.

And finally if you want to give your health and wellbeing a boost, East Riding Leisure is to launch a ‘Shape up for Summer’ membership package next week. For more information visit the East Riding Leisure website.
