A popular spa business in Beverley announced its closure yesterday (Monday, September 2).
Sessions Spa has been a feature of New Walk in the town for many years, offering beauty treatments and hair styling in luxurious surroundings. It was a renowned destination for racegoers on Beverley Ladies’ Day, eager to enjoy a spot of pampering and relaxation before heading off to the Westwood racecourse.
A notice appeared on the Sessions Spa website yesterday, notifying customers of its closure. It began with the words: “Thank you and Goodbye.”
The note went on: “It is with deep regret that we announce today 2nd Sept 2024 the permanent closure of Sessions Spa Ltd. The team at Sessions would like to thank all of our loyal and supportive clients for every visit over the past few years and we will miss seeing all of you.
“There have been a number of significant factors contributing to this difficult decision. We will ensure all clients that have paid deposits or booked appointments online from 3rd September will be fully refunded.
“All clients with valid gift vouchers will also be reimbursed. We have the list of all affected clients.
“We ask that you send your bank details to Info@sessionsspa.co.uk and we will verify your details and refund accordingly. All clients with gift vouchers please also email the valid voucher for the refund to be validated.
“All refunds will be processed from 3rd Sept 2024 to 23rd Sept 2024 so please get in touch within this period allocated as we will not be able to process refunds after this period. We wish you all the very best for the future and thank you for your loyalty and custom.
“Thank you and Goodbye. From all at Sessions.”
There has been no further explanation as to the sudden closure of the business. It was for many years owned and run by Jimi and Georgina “George” Parkinson; the directors since 2021 have been Rhona McLeod and Ian Richardson.
