A late Danny East winner in stoppage time gave North Ferriby a 3-2 win over Golcar United.

The Villagers bounced back from their exit in the East Riding Senior cup by defeating a determined Golcar side.

Chris Bolder made three changes from his side’s last league game. In came Oli Donald, Danny Buttle and Danny Clarke. Danny East made a return to the bench, his first league action since September 27th.

It was the Villagers who took the lead after only three minutes. A corner was taken on the left-hand side. The delivery was low and was flicked on by Josh Whiteley. The ball landed at the feet of captain Niall Tilsley, who turned before smashing the ball into the roof of the net.

Golcar would level the scores five minutes later. The Villagers failed to clear a cross, allowing Slater Barnes to put the ball past Lewis Exall.

The Villagers would retake their lead on the 38th minute. Good play on the left-hand side from Danny Buttle gave him the opportunity to find Danny Clarke. Clarke, who was in the area, turned and hit an effort towards the goal. The strike wasn’t too powerful, but Golcar goalkeeper Harry Stead was.

The Villagers took the lead into the half but would find themselves back on level terms one minute into the second half. Kayle Price levelling the scores.

The scores would stay level for the majority of the second period. It looked as if it would be a frustrating afternoon for Bolder’s side, but in the fourth minute of added time, the Villagers would take the lead. A long throw on the left-hand side by Josh Dennett found Tom Corner. Corner chested the ball well, before bringing the ball down and playing it over the top. Danny East ran onto the ball, and just beat Stead to the ball. East slid and placed the ball into the back of the net.

North Ferriby assistant manager Paul Robson shared his thoughts after the game, “massive result, again we’ve had to do both sides of the game and we’ve come out with the right result at the end. We always say the squad is huge for us and we must use it every game and Danny (East) has come on and done a massive job”.

North Ferriby: Exall, Dennett, Tilsley, Tarbotton, Donald, Kirk, Shortland, Buttle (East) Corner, Whiteley, Clarke.
Subs not used: Douglas, Start, Emerton, Forrester
