North Ferriby FC saw a two-goal lead disappear after a spirited ten-man Maltby Main left the Dransfield with all three points.

Levi Tarbotton returned from suspension to replace skipper Niall Tilsley. Robbie Start came in for Oli Donald, in the two changes from last week’s 2-0 victory over Knaresborough. In the absence of Niall Tilsley, Jamie Forrester captained the side.

Maltby Main goalkeeper Dylan Parkin kept the scores level early, producing good saves to deny Jamie Forrester and Josh Whiteley.

The Villagers broke the deadlock in the first half. Chris Bolder’s side were awarded a penalty when Maltby Main’s James Stafford handled the goal-bound ball. Stafford saw red and up stepped Josh Whiteley. Whiteley sent his penalty crashing into the roof of the net, giving Dylan Parkin no chance.

The Villagers doubled their lead moments before the end of the first half. A good run from Danny Earl allowed him to play the ball out wide to find Josh Dennett, an impressive drive from Dennett ended with the Ferriby fullback pulling the ball across the box and finding Josh Whiteley. Whiteley poked the ball home.

The Villagers found Maltby Main goalkeeper Dylan Parkin in great form, and he denied Danny Buttle from adding a Ferriby third.

The visitors pulled a goal back when the hosts were unable to clear the ball, allowing Frederick Tracey to head home. The visitors would be level just six minutes later. The Villagers weren’t on the same page, and this allowed Maltby Main to gain possession deep in the Ferriby half. A cross into the area found Tracey who grabbed his second of the game.

The visitors would gain a third and put themselves in the lead on the 78th minute. Cameron Hough rising highest to head past Lewis Hill.

The Villagers looked to get themselves back into the game and continued to find Parkin hard to get past. Adam Bolder went close but his header hit the bar.

A disappointing afternoon at the Dransfield for the Villagers, who remain top of the table and keep five points clear of Emley, who played in the FA vase.

North Ferriby: Hill, Dennett, Start (Ezeagba) Smaller, Tarbotton, Kirk, Shortland(Bolder), Emerton (Buttle), Forrester, Earl, Whiteley.
