The Hull Seahawks are delighted to announce the signing of forward Lee Pollitt from the Blackburn Hawks for the 22/23 season!
Lee averaged over a point a game in the NIHL 1 division while playing for the Blackburn Hawks over multiple seasons and more than looked the part this weekend when dressing up for the Seahawks. But Pollitt grasped the opportunity and really showed why he should be playing at NIHL National level on a regular basis.
Our new #70 spoke to us earlier after signing for the Seahawks, “I’m really excited to get going with the boys, the team’s looking really competitive already this pre-season and I know we’re still waiting on a few guys too. I’d originally signed for Blackburn for a 7th term but after helping out for the Seahawks this past weekend, Matty and I spoke about the move and here we are. I’m confident in my ability at this level and my aim is always to keep improving and bettering myself in all areas of the game. Being around this new set-up in Hull over the weekend and seeing the passion and excitement both in the room and amongst the fans, I’m really excited for the season and look forward to hopefully picking up some silverware this year.”
Player-head coach Matty Davies commented, “Signing Lee came from knowing that we were going to be short on the first weekend due to not having the imports in as early as we wanted. So I asked Ozzy (Dominic Osman) Blackburn Hawks head coach if we could take Pollitt for the weekend as I’ve always liked Lee’s game. We had a few years playing Blackburn with the Pirates and he was always a difficult player to play against and thought he was 100% capable of playing at this level! Lee came in this weekend and absolutely proved me right, he was brilliant. Did anything I asked of him, took big draws when we needed him and really played a solid weekend. He will also prove a huge help after seeing Sam Towner taking an unfair hit to the head from behind on Saturday in Leeds after a questionable play and myself being unknown when I can return. So, overall a big thanks to Ozzy and Blackburn for facilitating this transfer and helping us when we needed, it really is a good relationship we have with them. Lee is buzzing to be with us and I’m very happy to have him for the rest of the this season!!”
