Beverley Town returned to winning ways last night, away at Worsborough Bridge Athletic in the NCEL League Cup. Ramus Kriisa, the new goalkeeper on a dual registration deal from Bridlington Town, kept a clean sheet on debut.

The scoring was opened in the first 15 minutes when a Worsbrough Bridge defender turned a Joe Matique cross into his own net. Less than two minutes later Town had doubled their lead thanks to a Craig Muirhead free-kick which flew into the top corner. The scoring was rounded off for Town at the start of the second half, Harry Griffin scored his first goal of the season with a strike which left the keeper rooted to the spot. Final Score: Worsborough Bridge Athletic 0-3 Beverley Town.

Dave Ricardo’s side will want to convert the good result last night into more points in the league following a recent stutter following a good start to the season. Town are away at Armthorpe Welfare on Saturday afternoon.
