Beverley Town suffered a second consecutive home defeat at the hands of Swallownest. It was a frustrating performance for Dave Ricardo’s men in front of a crowd of 272. Very few clear-cut chances were created by either side. The only goal of the game came in the first half from a cross which was headed home at close range by Jack Haslam in the 18th minute. Following that moment both sides were reduced to chances from distance or acute angles. Swallownest showed great grit and determination to prevent a late equaliser. Beverley Town 0-1 Swallownest.

Hull City once again lost in a poor manner away from home. The Tigers are yet to win on the road and have been a stark contrast to the City side which has won all their games at the MKM Stadium. QPR were excellent value for their 3-0 lead at half-time and it should have been more after Dykes missed a sitter five minutes into the second period. Chances that did come the way of the Tigers frontline were dealt with well by Rangers stopper Dieng. One moment of quality from City came via Regan Slater who floated a brilliant pass over the high-line defence played by the hosts. Tyler Smith latched on to the ball and slotted it beyond the keeper for a consolation.

Earlier in the week Hull KR forward Korbin Sims announced he is to retire following the Hull derby. This however has been brought forward by the RFL disciplinary board. Sims has received a three-match ban following the Robins 38-28 victory over Wigan Warriors. Rovers are expected to be very shorthanded heading into the final fixture of the season.

North Ferriby are backing in action this evening. The Villagers have suffered two defeats in a row, firstly, in the FA Cup and were knocked out of the FA Vase on penalties on Saturday against St Helens. Elsewhere, in the Humber Premier League, Cherry Burton host Sculcoates Amateurs and in Division One Great Driffield travel to Beverley Town Reserves.
