After a successful start to their league campaign, North Ferriby FC are in FA Cup action as they welcome Northallerton Town to the Dransfield stadium.

The Villagers defeated Emley 2-0 in their NCEL premier division debut, a brace from Danny East the difference between the two sides.

The Villagers made their FA cup debut at this stage last season. When asked about how he feels about the game retrospectively, Bolder said, “we saw some pleasing things. We created opportunities and limited their opportunities. We need to focus on being less wasteful. We improved on that in the second half after we had a chat about it at halftime”.

They drew with Whitley Bat up in the Northeast before losing the replay at home. Bolder and his side will be looking like to make it one round further this time around. When asked about what he has learnt about cup games since their exit, Bolder commented, “cup competitions are one-off game and anything can happen. We have the advantage of being at home . We all want a good cup, and we were disappointed by our exit last season”.

In Northallerton, Ferriby face another side from the Northern League. Sides from the Northeast are no strangers to Bolder, who as well as the Whitley Bay game in the FA cup, Seaham, West Auckland, and North Shields have all been stern tests for Bolder’s side in the past couple of years. When asked about what he expects from Northallerton and the prospect of a Northern League side, Bolder said, “Northern League clubs are strong, and this is shown through their performance in the cup and vase. They lost on Tuesday, but the game seemed close from what I’ve seen”.

The Villagers were dealt a double injury blow this week with the news of Lewis Exall’s shoulder injury and Adam Bolder getting an injury to his soft tissue in his foot. Both will miss several weeks. Robbie Start will also miss the fixture. Bolder will welcome Louis Kirk back to his squad after he missed the Emley game.
